About

the Role

The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, monitoring, and adjusting detailed production schedules to support smooth plant operations, on-time delivery performance, effective inventory management, and optimal use of production capacity. This role partners closely with Supply Chain, Production, Warehousing, Customer Service, Purchasing, Shipping/Receiving, and Transportation to align daily operational priorities and ensure accurate planning within SAP ECC and APO.

Key Responsibilities

Create, monitor, and adjust production & bulk/railcar schedules to support on-time, efficient production and customer delivery requirements.

Prepare and communicate the daily production & bulk/railcar schedule to ensure alignment across operations, supply chain, warehousing, and customer service.

Coordinate production orders, capacity availability, material readiness, and customer demand requirements across assigned work centers.

Partner with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Shipping/Receiving, Warehousing, and Transportation to resolve operational priorities and support customer needs.

Monitor inventory levels for bulk/railcar materials, finished goods, rework, pallets, bulk oil, and non-BOM supplies & packaging to support production continuity and inventory KPI performance.

Analyze schedule deviations, delivery changes, complaints, detention charges, and operational constraints; recommend and implement appropriate plan adjustments.

Maintain and update relevant master data in SAP ECC and APO, ensuring high data quality within planning systems.

Support new product introductions, plan changes, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful execution.

Participate in regular planning and coordination meetings to communicate priorities, risks, and schedule changes.

Identify complex problems, evaluate options, and implement solutions that improve customer service, production flow, and capacity utilization.

Support continuous improvement and optimization projects that enhance planning accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Build positive working relationships, share knowledge with team members, and support team activities in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment.

Lead and coordinate annual silo fumigation planning and execution as required.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Qualifications

Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate schedules, changes, risks, and priorities.

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a level necessary to understand job terminology, procedures, and instructions.

Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.

Demonstrated ability to plan ahead, maximize efficiency, solve problems, and support safe work practices.

Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build effective internal and external customer-supplier relationships.

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred.

Equivalent experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SAP ECC, APO, or similar planning systems.

Analytical and solution-oriented approach to work.

Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, and coordination skills.

Experience supporting production scheduling, inventory planning, material coordination, or manufacturing operations.

Ability to learn and schedule complex plant operations across multiple work centers.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in hot, cold, or wet environments.

Ability to work overtime and maintain a flexible schedule as business needs require.

The pay range for this position is $76,500 - $103,500 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role.
