Job DescriptionWork Schedule:
3 x 12 hour shifts, 7a-7pm, Late stay call, no weekends
- Interprets information accurately from various noninvasive and invasive monitors.
- Describes the pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes and the physiology associated with anesthesia techniques and surgical interventions.
- Applies relevant scoring systems for patient transfer accurately as defined by organizational policy.
- Develops and implements individualized perianesthesia plans of care, including managing recovery from various types of anesthesia.
- Protects patients from injury caused by positioning, thermal sources, and extraneous objects.
- Communicates the patient's current status throughout the perianesthesia continuum of care.
- Administers medications correctly by implementing the 7-rights of safe medication practices.
- Performs interventions to maintain the integrity of the patient's wound, tissue perfusion, and overall system status at or above baseline levels.
- Provides age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice.
- Documents nursing care completely, accurately, and legibly. Collaborates effectively with other disciplines as needed.
- Assesses patients postoperative status, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, hemodynamic stability, pain, comfort, and mental status.

- Associate s of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor s of Nursing [Preferred]
- 2+ years post-anesthesia or equivalent critical care experience [Preferred]
- 1+ years critical care nursing experience [Required]
- Student in RN nursing program who has completed at least three hospital clinical rotations will be considered.
- Basic arrhythmias identification course prior to starting required.
- Certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) [Preferred]
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
