SHIPPING COORDINATOR - 1st Shift

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for preparing shipping documentation and maintaining all shipping records and reports in accordance with established Company procedures. The role includes receiving, storing, and issuing shipments, equipment, and other items for the warehouse.

• Coordinate shipping requirements with approved freight carriers to ensure planned shipments are covered and are available.
• Maintain outbound shipping logs daily to support finance invoicing and customer service requests.
• Manage dock assignments to maximize efficient loading and unloading of carriers.
• Communicate with local drivers using the Order Management system to coordinate trailer exchange.
• Manage available drop trailer fleet to smooth operational workloads.
• Process control sheets through AS400 to initiate the loading process.
• Coordinate Bill of Lading process and processing of recipient orders to active waves.
• Coordinate with approved carriers to ensure all shipments have available transportation and that trucks have designated pickup and delivery times.
• Manage import container tracking and delivery.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of all required on-the-job training.
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
• May be required to use department-specific database systems.
• Knowledge of principles involved in planning and resource allocation of distribution operations.
• Knowledge of AS400 a plus.
• One year of experience in materials planning or shipping and receiving in a manufacturing operation or administration of a distribution or warehousing operation.

• Planning and organizational skills.

• May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Working around moving equipment and in an industrial environment.
• Working in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and variable temperatures.
