Skilled Laborer

Sletten Construction is looking for Skilled Laborers to support current construction projects in the state of California. The Skilled Laborer is responsible for assisting the construction team by performing tasks involving physical labor. Laborers may operate hand and power tools during construction projects. This is a position that is pivotal to completing projects on time and within budget. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Must have a clean background with no recent felonies.

• Cleaning and preparing sites for construction
• Commercial flooring, painting, and framing
• Patching and taping drywall
• Concrete removal
• Concrete pouring and finishing
• Clean-up of site after construction
• Assist other craft workers as needed
• Must work quickly, productively, and safely without error and consistently meet the production goals as set by the Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager.
• Must consistently produce quality workmanship as judged by company standards
• Must comply with all company safety and personnel policies

• Must have own transportation
• Must be able to pass a drug screening
• Must be over 18
• Must be able to occasionally lift and carry 80 lbs.
• Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, lift overhead, work at heights, walk/work in rough terrain in order to access equipment, tools, materials, and jobsite in order to complete work.
• Must not have any recent felonies or be on probation
• Tools required - Hammer, wire cutters, pliers, and tool belt
• Desire and ability to learn construction trade
