Wage: $22/hour – $30/hour (dependent on experience and location).
Love working with numbers? Dive into details, spreadsheets, and keeping things organized. CALA seeks an Accounting Assistant for real, hands‑on A/E Industry accounting experience (no busywork).
What You Will Do- Support subconsultant contracts, invoices, and billing from start to finish.
- Enter and organize data using Excel and accounting software (Unanet).
- Review, research, and help resolve invoice and vendor statement issues.
- Manage and organize the accounting email inbox.
- Communicate with subconsultants, clients, and teammates via email and phone.
- Assist with accounting projects and administrative tasks as needed.
This role begins with a structured onboarding period of 24–30 hours per week to support training. Transition to full‑time is based on how quickly you learn, demonstrate proficiency, and meet training milestones.

- 1–2 years of experience in a professional office environment (A/E industry experience a plus).
- 1–2 years of college coursework preferred, especially in accounting, finance, or related fields (or currently enrolled).
- Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Suite, especially Excel/Sheets.
- Strong communication skills, collaborative mindset, and sense of humor.

- Real accounting experience working directly with a Controller.
