Position: Principal Accountant (Internal Control Accountant)
Location: Vernon

Principal Accountant (Internal Control Accountant)

The City of Roseville’s Accounting team is seeking a dynamic and skilled Principal Accountant with strong accounting experience to lead special projects, perform technical accounting analysis, strengthen internal controls, assist with the annual audit and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) preparation, and handle other accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead special projects and perform technical accounting analysis.
  • Strengthen internal controls and evaluate existing procedures.
  • Assist with the annual audit and ACFR preparation.
  • Perform routine and complex transactions and partner with other departments.
  • Provide support for a wide range of financial reporting.
Qualifications
  • Five years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, including preparation and analysis of financial statements and complex accounting transactions.
  • Experience coordinating audits, evaluating internal controls, or providing lead direction on accounting projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field; CPA or MBA desired.
  • Valid California driver’s license by date of appointment.
