Position Summary
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for providing accounting and analytical business support by handling transactional accounting and financial reporting activities. This position exercises independent judgment in applying accounting principles, analyzing financial data, identifying process efficiencies, and resolving accounting issues. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls. This role brings strong attention to detail, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- General Accounting
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data flow
- Process and record accounts receivable (AR) transactions
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and reclassifications
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Independently manage internal and external workflow
- Acts as a resource for less experienced clerks.
- ERP super-user responsibilities and system training
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to company policies and controls
- Prepare financial and operational reports
- Identify process improvement opportunities within accounting processes
- Perform ad hoc requests and analyses as needed

Primarily office-based

Occasional (if applicable)
Schedule:
May require extended hours during month-end and year-end close periods
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
Experience:
3–5 years of accounting experience
Experience using accounting or ERP systems (Great Plains and Amtech, a plus)
Proficiency skills in Microsoft Excel (Power Pivot, Power Query, etc.)
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Skills
Experience in financial analysis and reporting
Exposure to cross-functional business operations
Familiarity with process improvement practices
