Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for supporting daily accounts payable operations by processing invoices, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring vendors are paid in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

+ Review purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices to verify accuracy prior to payment approval.

+ Enter and code invoices into the accounting system accurately and in a timely manner.

+ Process weekly and recurring payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.

+ Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and resolve outstanding balances.

+ Assist with account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and general ledger support as needed.

+ Support month-end close by preparing accruals and providing accounts payable documentation.

+ Maintain organized and accurate vendor files and payment records for audit readiness.

+ Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding invoice questions, approvals, and payment status.

+ Help identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounts payable function.

+ Perform other related accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ 2+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience preferred.

+ Knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounts payable procedures.

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume processing.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

+

Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.

+ Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.

+ High school diploma or equivalent required; additional accounting coursework or related education preferred.
