Bookkeeper

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to support a small, family-owned trucking and organic materials company. Reporting to the business owner, controller, or accountant, this role will manage day-to-day financial records using Quick Books Online and other accounting systems, with specialized responsibilities related to trucking operations, organic materials sales, and fleet expenses.

Responsibilities

• Record and maintain financial transactions.
• Maintain the general ledger.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Process payroll and maintain payroll accounting records.
• Manage invoices and payment documentation.
• Track expenses, including fleet-related costs.
• Support bookkeeping for trucking operations and organic materials sales.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Work environment - small office, contractor yard setting, often by yourself, dealing with customers, vendors, employees.
• Experience with Quick Books, including Quick Books Online, or similar accounting software
• Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Experience performing bank reconciliations.
• Experience with payroll accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Effective time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or a related field.
