Accounts Payable Specialist

Robert Half is hiring an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a growing healthcare organization. This is a hands-on AP position for someone who knows the full invoice-to-payment cycle and can confidently manage vendor questions, invoice discrepancies, approvals, and reconciliations.

This person will become a key point of contact between Accounting, Procurement, department managers, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full-cycle AP process from invoice receipt through payment
• Process high-volume invoices while maintaining accuracy
• Review invoices for appropriate coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
• Assign invoices to GL accounts, departments, and cost centers
• Match invoices against purchase orders and contracts
• Investigate pricing, quantity, and billing discrepancies
• Maintain vendor master data and payment information
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment questions
• Reconcile vendor statements and outstanding balances
• Prepare and process weekly payment batches
• Assist with ACH and check payments
• Monitor AP aging and prioritize time-sensitive invoices
• Research duplicate payments, credits, and unapplied items
• Assist with monthly AP accruals and month-end close
• Prepare AP reporting and reconciliation schedules
• Support annual audit requests and documentation
