Primary
Purpose:
Perform general accounting of athletics funds and other campus activity funds.
Education/Certification
High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency)
Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee.
Knowledge/Skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to use calculator (10 key by touch)
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and word processing
- Proficient skills in typing, keyboarding, and file maintenance
- Ability to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner to meet established deadlines
- Proficient in the use of technology
Experience
One (1) year accounting and/or bookkeeping experience preferred

The administrative assistant manages administrative, fiscal, and facilities functions responsibly through activities such as the following:
- Maintain complete and systematic records of athletics department transactions according to established procedures and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Maintain inventory of athletic department fixed assets, equipment, and supplies.
- Prepare monthly and other periodic athletic department financial reports.
- Assist with athletics department budget preparation.
- Maintain physical and computerized files and records.
- Enter & manage all DVISD district athletic events into online ticket website.
- Recruit and train district professionals providing service at all DVISD district athletic events.
- Maintain list of eligible substitutes to serve at all DVISD district athletic events.
- Work cooperatively with Business Office staff to ensure proper accounting of DVISD campus athletic funds.
- Prepare and assign all technology equipment used for online ticket sales at all DVISD campus athletic events.
- Process and account for all money generated and distributed in school-sponsored activities, including receipt of cash and preparing and making cash deposits.
- Perform reconciliations of all online ticket sales for all DVISD campus athletic events.
- Enter and manage all transportation requests for DVISD athletic department trips.
- Assist with keeping DVISD Athletic Department Website and social media platforms updated.
- Assist with department budget management, purchase orders, direct pays, activity funds invoices, etc.
- Process payments for all game officials and game workers.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the administration.
