POSITION HOURS AND DAYS VARY. PAY FOR POSITION: 2025-26 Salary $21.86/hourly
DescriptionThis position provides a variety of office support to an assigned program, including receptionist activities, composing and typing correspondence and reports, record tracking, budget or financial tracking, providing customer service, operating a computer, maintaining knowledge of program rules and regulations including State reports, producing custom reports, and other support functions.
Reporting RelationshipsReports to the Assistant Director of Human Resources; also reports to school principal building administrator(s) and receives guidance from certificated staff while substituting at specific locations.
Essential Functions- Provides backup and peak load assistance as requested.
- May work with auditors or compliance personnel.
- May purchase refreshments for meetings and conferences; track expenses.
- May serve on district committees or departmental work teams.
- Performs related duties consistent with scope and intent of the position.
Requires adaptability to shifting priorities, concentration, attention to detail, and occasional handling of difficult individuals.
Exposed to visual display terminal for prolonged periods, required to sit for prolonged periods; some positions may require travel to school sites.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience
Two (2) years of training in secretarial procedures, maintaining detailed records and customer service.
Allowable Substitutions
Advanced training in business or secretarial procedures may substitute for up to one (1) year of required experience, and other alternatives may be acceptable.

- Knowledge of office procedures, VAX system, bookkeeping, budgeting spreadsheets.
- High-level keyboarding and data entry.
- Operating various office machines and computer programs.
- Grammar, spelling and usage proficiency.
- Arithmetic calculation ability.
- Correspondence, report, graph, chart composition.
- File and record organization.
- Prioritization and confidentiality.
- Relationship building with diverse individuals.
Licenses/Special Requirements
Fingerprinting and background check; infection control training; valid Washington state driver’s license and good driving record may be required;
First Aid and CPR certification required if working in the health room.
