Automotive Worker
Prime Response, Inc. (PRI) is seeking a motivated Automotive Worker to support our Logistics Management Support Services contract at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) located in Edwards Air Force Base and Palmdale, California. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to grow their automotive maintenance career while supporting a world-class federal research and flight test environment. The Automotive Worker will assist with fleet vehicle maintenance, inspections, repairs, and shop operations while working alongside experienced mechanics and technicians.
What You'll Do As an Automotive Worker, you will help ensure vehicles and equipment remain safe, reliable, and mission ready.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and support services for government fleet vehicles
- Assist mechanics and technicians with vehicle repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting
- Conduct oil changes, tire rotations, filter replacements, battery replacements, and other preventive maintenance tasks
- Assist with brake, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, air conditioning, and computer system repairs
- Clean, wash, polish, and detail vehicle interiors and exteriors
- Apply and maintain vehicle decals and markings
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, organized condition
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues using shop equipment and diagnostic tools
- Support vehicle inspections and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with applicable safety and fleet management requirements
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialized automotive equipment
- Participate in company-sponsored training to stay current with evolving automotive technologies
Requirements Qualifications
Required:
Basic knowledge of automotive systems, components, and shop tools Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to obtain and maintain a NASA credential and/or U.S. Government security clearance as required Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform physical work in a shop environment Willingness to learn and support more advanced repair activities Ability to successfully complete position-related training and certifications Preferred:
One (1) year of automotive repair or maintenance experience Automotive vocational/technical school education ASE certifications or other industry-recognized automotive training Experience working with fleet vehicles, government vehicles, or commercial vehicle maintenance programs
