We are seeking a collaborative, analytical, and forward-thinking Budget Analyst to join our leadership team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the financial success of one of the County's largest departments by supporting budgeting, fiscal planning, grants, contracts, and state and federal reimbursement programs.
As our Budget Analyst, you won't simply maintain budgets—you'll help build the future of the department's financial operations by identifying funding opportunities, improving reimbursement processes, and developing sustainable fiscal strategies that support essential community services.
The Budget Analyst performs professional financial, administrative, and program analysis for the Department of Health and Human Services. Working directly with department leadership, this position helps develop and monitor department budgets, analyze financial trends, oversee grants and contracts, and maximize state and federal funding opportunities.
This role is instrumental in strengthening DHHS's financial infrastructure by helping establish and expand Medi-Cal reimbursement processes through programs such as:
- County-Based Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (CMAA)
- Intergovernmental Transfer (IGT)
- Voluntary Rate Range (VRR)
- Other state and federal reimbursement programs
The successful candidate will assist in developing reimbursement practices, work plans, fiscal procedures, and financial strategies that support long-term sustainability while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
At the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), we work a 37.5 full-time work week, with the option of a flex-schedule and potential upcoming opportunities to work remote 1-2 days per week (depending on position).
