A well-established and respected Civil Engineering and Heavy Civil Construction firm in San Diego is seeking an experienced
Senior Estimator or Project Executive to support business development and market growth across the region. This opportunity is ideal for a
Senior Estimator, Project Executive, or Preconstruction professional looking to leverage their industry relationships and project pursuit experience to help grow a respected heavy civil contractor.
The ideal candidate understands the
heavy civil market and project pursuit process and enjoys building relationships that lead to new project opportunities. In this role, you will help identify upcoming work, strengthen relationships with developers and contractors, and collaborate with internal teams to guide project pursuit strategies and expand the company’s project pipeline.
This position will work closely with company leadership and play a key role in shaping project pursuits and long-term market growth for the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and pursue new project opportunities within the
heavy civil and site development market - Build and maintain strong relationships with
developers, contractors, vendors, and industry partners - Support project pursuits by collaborating with internal teams on
estimating strategy and proposal development - Track industry trends, competitor activity, and upcoming projects
- Generate leads through networking, industry connections, and referrals
- Work closely with leadership to expand the company's
project pipeline and market presence
- 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
, estimating, project management, or project leadership - Strong understanding of scopes such as:
- Mass excavation and grading
- Asphalt paving
- Concrete flatwork and structures
- Material sales and trucking operations
- Experience with
public works or federal contracting is a plus - Strong relationship-building and networking skills within the
construction industry

- Dp you have experience preparing or supporting competitive bids, project pursuits, and proposal development?
- Do you have a working knowledge of public works and/or federal contracting processes (Caltrans, municipal, or federal projects preferred)?
- Do you have a strong knowledge of mass excavation, grading, underground utilities, asphalt paving, and concrete flatwork/structures?
Education:
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience:
- heavy civil construction, estimating, or project management: 10 years (Required)
- Mass excavation / underground utilities / paving: 10 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- OSHA 30 Construction (Preferred)
