Approx. $1million to $50 million Pay Range $45 to $65/hour (approx. $93,600 to $135,200 annual) Geographic Scope West Coast United States Primary Clients Tribal Governments and Enterprises, Public Agencies About the Role Merk Construction is seeking a Construction Foreman to lead and coordinate daily field operations on active construction projects. This role is responsible for organizing crews, materials, tools, and equipment;

supporting safe and efficient jobsite work; and helping ensure projects are completed according to plans, specifications, schedules, quality standards, and company expectations. The Construction Foreman is a hands-on field leader who provides direction to crew members, communicates with Superintendents and Project Managers, coordinates with subcontractors and inspectors, and supports a professional, respectful, and safety-focused jobsite culture.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead, coordinate, and support daily field operations for assigned crews and workareas.
• Review work plans and organize labor, tools, equipment, materials, deliveries, staging, and site logistics.
• Assign tasks to crew members and monitor progress, productivity, quality, and safety throughout the workday.
• Read, understand, and help implement plans, specifications, drawings, schedules, scopes of work, and company procedures.
• Perform and oversee construction activities such as site preparation, excavation, grading, trenching, backfill, compaction, concrete work, utility work, carpentry, material handling, cleanup, and related field tasks.
• Track and communicate daily labor, equipment, material usage, production, field conditions, and work completed.
• Maintain field records, including daily reports, photos, as-builts, timesheets, material tickets, equipment logs, and related documentation.
• Identify and communicate safety concerns, field conflicts, material shortages, delays, plan discrepancies, quality issues, or changed conditions.
• Support inspections, testing, punch-list completion, closeout activities, and corrective work.
• Train, guide, and mentor less experienced employees in safe work practices, proper tool and equipment use, construction methods, and company expectations.

Communication and Leadership
• Communicate clearly, respectfully, and promptly with supervisors, crews, clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and project partners.
• Set the tone for professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and respectful conduct on the job site.
• Provide clear direction and confirm that crew members understand tasks, priorities, safety expectations, and quality standards.
• Escalate problems early and communicate practical solutions when issues arise.
• Maintain transparency with supervisors regarding project progress, delays, risks, safety concerns, equipment needs, material needs, and crew performance.

Safety Responsibilities
• Perform and oversee work in accordance with company safety policies, project-specific safety requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Lead by example in the proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
• Conduct or support daily safety meetings, tailgate meetings, job hazard analyses, and site-specific safety briefings.
• Identify, correct, and report unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviors, near misses, incidents, equipment concerns, and environmental hazards.
• Stop work when conditions are unsafe and notify the appropriate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
• Several years of progressive construction field experience, including demonstrated ability to lead crews and coordinate daily field work.
• Strong working knowledge of construction means and methods, jobsite safety, tools, equipment, materials, plans, specifications, field measurements, and quality expectations.
