Essential Duties & Responsibilities Monitoring grade achievement on projects and assisting the Superintendent in meeting quality production requirements. Operate & understand the use of measuring instruments and hand tools. Setting grade markers and guiding earth-moving equipment operators in slope, cut, and fill embankments. Calibrating base and rover survey equipment and managing construction equipment with GPS capabilities. Ensuring compliance with project specifications and maintaining detailed records for ensuring the successful completion of construction projects.

Actively support and adhere to CEI safety policies. Attend work consistently and regularly. Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications Level of Experience Requirements:
Construction Staking – 5 years continuous experience Topographic Surveying – 5 years continuous experience Knowledge of Section 152 of the FP-24 Standard Specifications, Construction Survey and Staking. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Ability to perform Construction and Survey Staking per Section 152.05 of the FP-24 Standard Specifications. Establish vertical and horizontal survey control points. Set benchmarks with a maximum spacing of 1,000 feet along roadways.

Perform survey work to establish permanent monuments and markers. Adjust slope, reference, and clearing stakes as necessary during construction. Preferred N/A Supervisory Responsibilities This position will not have supervisory responsibilities. DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements This position does perform DOT “safety-sensitive” functions (as defined under 49 CFR Part 40) and is subject to all federal requirements related to Department of Transportation requirements for those performing, or on-call to perform, “safety-sensitive” functions.
