Cali Kids Dental is a fun, energetic, and kid-friendly pediatric dental practice focused on creating positive dental experiences for children and fostering lifelong healthy smiles. We are seeking an experienced Lead Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our team and help oversee clinical operations, support the dental team, and ensure a seamless patient experience.

As the Lead RDA
, you will play a crucial role in managing the back office, ensuring efficiency in clinical operations, and supporting both the dental team and office staff. You will oversee the sterilization process, maintain inventory, train and mentor dental assistants, and ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled, organized, and proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

  • This is a full-time position
  • Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM-5:00 PM
  • Traveling between our Antelope, Orangevale, and Auburn offices

Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Support
  • Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including exams, restorations, extractions, and impressions.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the dental assisting team to ensure efficient patient care.
  • Monitor and enforce infection control and sterilization protocols to maintain a safe and clean clinical environment.
Training & Mentorship
  • Train and mentor new dental assistants on procedures, protocols, and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to the dental assisting team to ensure high performance and teamwork.
  • Act as a resource for assistants, answering questions and troubleshooting issues as needed.
Inventory & Equipment Management
  • Monitor and manage clinical supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is stocked and maintained.
  • Place orders for dental materials and supplies while keeping costs within budget.
  • Ensure dental equipment is properly maintained and serviced as needed.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and state dental board regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment notes and sterilization logs.
  • Assist with radiographs and impressions following state guidelines and office policies.
Patient Care & Experience
  • Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.
  • Educate patients and parents on post-treatment care and oral hygiene best practices.
  • Maintain a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor to create a welcoming environment.
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license is required
  • Valid coronal polishing certification is required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of dental assisting experience with leadership and training experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and office practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on creating a comforting environment for children.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with patience and professionalism.
  • Proficient in using dental software and technology.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
