The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist for Trinity Health Center. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, 7AM - 6PM.
Out of Area Differential Pay is available for this position to incentivize qualified staff to commute from a longer distance. This will allow Trinity Health Care patients to receive better quality care.
The listed wage reflects the entry-level rate for this position. Compensation may be adjusted based on experience, education, and qualifications.
As part of an interdisciplinary team, the dental hygienist is a dental health specialist that prevents and treats oral and systemic disease through education and therapies for overall patient wellbeing. Responsibilities include the following: assess oral health, identify signs of disease, create treatment plans, and provide preventative and non‑surgical therapies.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge of dental surgery and associated procedures, terminology, and techniques.
- Knowledge of patient admission, triage, transfer, and discharge procedures and documentation.
- Knowledge of preventive dentistry measures to instruct patients in prevention of oral diseases.
- Knowledge of dental infection control procedures such as sterilization and use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work with effectively with Native American people in culturally diverse environments.
- Ability to perform a full range of established dental hygienist protocol and procedures.
- Ability to independently assess the nature and extent of dental, periodontic, and associated conditions and pathology in dental outpatients.
- Ability to analyze medical records and prescribed protocol to formulate effective therapeutic treatment plans.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical personnel.
- Ability to set up and prepare dental equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to build good rapport with patients and staff.
- Ability to research and interpret peer reviewed studies to keep up to date on the highest dental standards.
- Ability to work with patients of all ages and needs.
- Registered Dental Hygienist in the State of California.
- CPR Certificate.
- X‑ray License.
- Indian preference.
- Must be fingerprinted and pass background check.
