- Business coordination: Coordinate with the Business Development team on marketing, promotion, andsales.
- Manufacturing & launch: Coordinate with manufacturing partners to develop the product offering, track developments, and follow product through to market launch and post-launch sales.
From concept through development, launch, and ongoing sales — including but not limited to:
- Create sketches, 2D drawings, 3D models, and renderings of concepts (for furniture, lighting, rugs, etc.).
- Create technical drawings for production and fabrication.
- Create presentation material for Principals and/or licensees, supporting product development, marketing, and sales opportunities.
From concept through development, launch, and sales — including but not limited to:
- Develop internal templates and standards to streamline process and establish benchmark standards relative to partner offerings.
- Manage communications between PD&D and all licensees.
- Manage design drawings, specifications, and samples with all licensees.
- Manage the timeline for design, development, and launch with each licensee to ensure production deadlines are met, and strategize for ongoing line extensions.
- Manage PD&D supplies, samples, and library.
- Coordinate installation/set-up and ongoing needs with licensee showrooms.
- Must have product design experience and technical knowledge in the above product categories.
- BFA / BA / MA in product design or a similar applicable degree.
- Adobe Creative Suite F— Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
- Microsoft Office Suite — Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
- 2D drawing — sketching and AutoCAD.
- 3D modeling and rendering skills — ideally Solid Works.
- Strong communication skills — verbal, written, and graphic.
- Leadership and time-management skills that enable you to manage multiple product lines and development schedules simultaneously.
- A portfolio that demonstrates the ability to communicate the production of design and products, including project-management spreadsheets/documents.
