Physician - Hematology​/Oncology Mather

Job Title

Provider is a Hematology and Medical Oncology trained physician who is board certified and/or board eligible. Provider will provide clinical Hematology/Oncology services at the Northern California VAHCS. This includes diagnosis and treatment of benign/malignant hematologic disorders and solid tumor malignancies, conducting bone marrow biopsies, prescribing and managing chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Teaching and precepting Hematology/Oncology fellows and internal medicine residents are fundamental to the position.

Direct supervisor is Chief of Medicine.

Clinical

• Provide independent care delivery to patients with cancer and blood disorders.
• Provide direct patient care which includes, but is not limited to: new patient consultations, follow up visits, medication management, evaluation of diagnostic tests and treatment planning, responding to patient secure messages
• Timely completion of medical records
• Telemedicine modalities will be utilized to provide care to veterans distant from our facility

Administrative

• Assist in coordination of care of veterans outside the VA Medical System if appropriate
• Triaging of new referrals
• Completion of mandatory government/facility trainings

Education

• Instructing and educating UC Davis Hem/Onc fellows and occasionally Internal Medicine residents
