Job Description
It is the responsibility of the preschool teacher's assistant to plan activities for children, such as storytelling, art projects, science experiments, math games, outdoor games, and various engaging lesson plans. They assist in managing meal times. They will assist in bathroom transitions/diapering children. Teaching assistants generally provide one-on-one attention when needed. He or she must help organize the classroom and plan intellectual activities for children, per the lead teacher's requests.
The duties of a preschool teacher's assistant includes interacting with children, preparing snacks, teaching children life skills, asking open-ended and creative thinking questions, and generally playing with preschool age children. General center cleaning will also happen during some shifts. They are counted in our child adult ratio, and must follow the substitute protocols if missing work. They will be moving quickly, playing, and engaging
children in a fast-paced indoor/outdoor classroom setting. No experience is required for employment. Teaching assistants will be matched with an Early Childhood Mentor/Coach to be trained and supported.
Required Qualifications
* Must pass a DOJ background check, 18 or older and enrolled in FRC course with 6 units or more.
* Complete two mandated reporter trainings, TB test, and be up-to-date on immunizations/exemptions

* Generally good health
* Ability to lift 50 lbs.
* Able to move body quickly, up and down off the floor, run
* Must meet state regulations for IZ and have TB clearance
Salary Range
Minimum Qualifications
* Enrolled in a minimum of 6 units in corresponding semester. Must present appropriate documentation that establishes identity and employment authorization.

* Assisting in planning curriculum for children ages 2-5 through play based education
* Engaging with children in a supportive, positive, and compassionate manner that support the growth of the whole child
* Support supervision at all times of children
