Testing Coordinator and Instructional Coach (TCIC)
Purpose: The Testing Coordinator/Instructional Coach, having both content and instructional expertise, will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning and teacher practice. The TCIC will focus on individual and group professional learning that will expand and refine the understanding about evidence-based effective instruction for teachers. In order to meet this purpose, the TCIC will provide personalized, 1:1 support based on the goals, student assessment data, and identified needs of individual teachers.

Payment Rate: According to Certified Teacher Salary Schedule
Employment Term: 9 Months
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/universityMinimum of five years of successful teaching experienceCurrent Montana Teaching LicenseDemonstrated knowledge of the Montana Content Standards and the Montana Comprehensive Assessment SystemExperience in evidence-based instructional practicesPrevious coaching or teacher leadership experienceDeep knowledge of and experience in:- Instructional strategies

- Assessment driven instruction (teaching/learning process)
- Curriculum development

Communicate and demonstrate evidence-based instructional practices that result in improved student outcomesProvide organized, individual and/or group learning opportunities for teachers as neededProvide individualized, classroom-based coaching with participants to support them in implementing good instructional practicesProvide support in analyzing student assessment dataAssist teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment dataProvide support for classroom motivation and management strategiesAssist teachers in creating pacing guides, unit plans, and unit assessments that are aligned with essential content standards in the curriculumProvide teachers resources related to instruction and curriculumHelp in researching instructional and/or curriculum issuesProvide encouragement and emotional support to teachersEncourage ongoing professional growth for all teachersWork positively toward meeting identified district and building improvement goalsAssist with development of district curriculum, instruction, and assessmentsDevelop and maintain a confidential, collegial relationship with teachersPossess an understanding of when to contact administrators regarding issues of safety/ethics involving students in the classroom observedAssist teachers in aligning their teaching with appropriate standards, curriculum and assessmentsAssist building staff with the gathering, examination and analysis of formative and summative assessment data to identify learning concerns for individual students and groups of students. Provides instructional support that is responsive to the identified needs of students and provides coaching support that is responsive to identified needs of staffAssist principals in monitoring and documenting instruction and assessment status and progress of new teachers and/or teachers with identified needsServe as support for the school and classroom levels in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the Multi-Tiered System of SupportAssure that students with disabilities are given appropriate testing instruments and accommodationsCompile and deliver test data to teachers in a timely manner and ensure that scores are entered into the data management system (Infinite Campus)Track student/teacher assessment data per unit, quarter, semester, and year and report data to administration in a timely mannerHave the ability to lead the staff in improving student achievement levelsCoordinate with school counselors and local colleges for the administration of ACT, ASVAB, and any other entrance examsKeeps current on appropriate assessment methods and best practices with reference to test proceduresAbility to work with the Montana Office of Public Instruction to follow assessment mandatesAbility to organize and schedule District-wide assessment calendarAbility to organize and maintain district assessment dataEvaluation
