POSITION PURPOSE

The Administrator of Student Success is a leadership position that serves as a liaison between the district office, school staff, students, families, and outside parties to improve student outcomes. This position provides leadership relative to instructional support by collaborating with all district schools. This position is aligned with the district's support pillar of nurturing a positive and supportive school environment to ensure students' safety, health, and well-being and support their learning by working proactively with Principals and Directors.

ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS
  • Serve as the liaison to school social workers, district offices, community stakeholders, parents, students, and local, county, state, and federal governmental agencies in matters regarding student support.
  • Develop, review, analyze, and update programs for delivery of school social work services and preparation of system level reports.
  • Design, implement, evaluate, and supervise the district wide school social work program.
  • Collaborate with the Director of School Social Work and Student Support Services.
  • Conduct evaluation of the School Social Work Program in collaboration with Principals.
  • Prepare and distribute regular updates, following district procedures, that provide a comprehensive description of the K–12 Social Work Program, including its policies, procedures, and all key components.
  • Coordinate the district social work program with others in the school and community to promote maximum cognitive and affective benefits for students.
  • Facilitate the participation of school social workers in professional development experiences to enhance their job‑related knowledge and skills.
  • Facilitate access and provide support and instruction for students who cannot attend school because of illness, accident, or pregnancy who are eligible for homebound or hospitalized instruction. (District Medical Homebound Coordinator).
  • Facilitate District Truancy Intervention, family court referrals, and support for students and families.
  • Lead all district bullying prevention efforts:
    • Coordinate bullying prevention and intervention programs.
    • Serve as liaison for Harassment, Intimidation, or Bullying (HIB) matters.
    • Develop and implement school‑wide bullying prevention plans.
    • Oversee anonymous reporting systems and bullying investigation protocols.
    • Ensure compliance with HIB policies and laws.
    • Monitor anonymous bullying reporting system
  • Provide professional development and training to staff on bullying prevention practices and regulations.
  • Design community programming to improve outcomes for school accountability and plan for innovative opportunities for student success.
  • Focus on opportunities for fifth year cohort students, ensuring targeted support and flexible pathways to graduation.
  • Medical Homebound:
    Manage referrals, approvals, and compliance for students requiring medical homebound instruction.
  • Affidavits:
    Administer the district's affidavit and residency verification process to ensure compliance with enrollment policies.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Chief Student Services Officer, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in social work, education, psychology or related field, or a minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master's degree and current license as social worker, counselor, or psychologist preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with other program staff and agencies to meet program needs and objectives.
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills
  • Preference will be given to holders of a current South Carolina Social Work License
EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in a Social Work setting is preferred.
