Position: CTE (Transportation) Teacher Applicant Pool (2026-2027 School Year)

INITIAL SALARY PLACEMENT:
Verification of degree/additional units (column placement) - Units acceptable to initial placement must have been earned subsequent to the B.A. or B.S. degree. Units beyond Column I are semester units. Quarter units are converted to semester units on a scale of three (3) units to two (2) semester units. (Quarter Units x .667 = semester units.) Official transcripts will be requested as verification if selected for position.

Verification of years of service (step placement) - Credit will be given for all verified full-time service. A year of teaching is defined as eight (8) or more months of full-time service in one (1) school year. Credit will be given for full-time night school, day school, or accredited private school teaching. Credit will not be given for practice or student teaching.

(Steps 1 - 30) Official verification of experience letter from previous school districts will be requested if selected for position.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid (or qualify for) a California Career Technical Education (CTE) Teaching credential with EL Authorization that would authorize service in this class.
• For candidates without an existing CTE or Industrial and Technology Education teaching credential:
You must have a minimum of three years of recent, verifiable work experience in the Transportation/Automotive industry. This experience may qualify you for a Preliminary California Designated Subjects Teaching Credential authorizing service in Transportation. A college degree in a related field may be substituted for some work experience. You must be willing to enroll into a credential program & complete the "clear" CTE credential requirements.
