Position:
The Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Management at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Construction Management at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The successful candidate will teach Construction Management courses, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and have research interests in Construction Management and/or Construction Engineering or a related field. The successful candidate will be required to provide advisement to undergraduates and supervision of graduate students. Active and effective participation in curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation, and other departmental activities are required.
Participation in professional student organizations may be required.
In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, participation in assessment of student learning, and service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate may be required to teach on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and/or online and will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are housed for recommending tenure and promotion.

Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. and B.S. in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution. ABD (All But Dissertation) candidates will be considered but must complete the doctoral degree before August 19, 2026.
- Teaching experience or strong potential to teach in Construction Management or Civil Engineering related courses at the College/University level, in-person, and/or online
- Published at least two papers in peer-reviewed conferences or journals within the last 5 years.
- Evidence of effective engagement or potential to engage with a diverse student body
- Experience using culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to equitable outcomes for all students
- Experience creating a student-centered learning environment
- Research/Lab experience that includes working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience adopting inclusive approaches to mentoring
- At least 3 years of industry experience in construction management or construction engineering
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching courses in construction management or construction engineering
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research in the field of construction management or construction engineering in the research statement
- Participation in grant proposal preparation, either as PI or Co-PI
