DEFINITION This teacher will design and implement the Physical Education Program for grades TK-5 at Cambria Grammar School and assist in other school programs as assigned. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Takes the lead in meeting with administration and staff members to design the plan for the CGS Physical Education Program. The plan will build from current program to provide a comprehensive program based on the Physical Education Framework for California Public Schools K-12. Elements of the program include body awareness, physical fitness, nutrition, dance, movement, rhythm, gymnastics, physical skills, sports and games, sportsmanship, conflict resolution, social skills, proper use and care of equipment, and safety.

The plan will be articulated and aligned across the grade levels. From time to time, the plan will be evaluated and revised.
2. Directs the implementation of the Physical Education Program. Teaches the program. Supports certificated and classified staff to implement the remainder of the program. Must be able to model physical activities and skills for students.
3. Instructs pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the course of study common to all teachers, as specified in State law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
4. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment in physical education areas.
5. Provides schedules for maximum use of equipment and facilities.
6. Organizes the P.E. Shed / equipment. Purchases materials and equipment. Keeps up to date inventories and check-out information on equipment. Maintains equipment in good repair. Provides for set-up and take-down of equipment.
7. Suggests to the staff workshops, conferences and other opportunities for further training. Participates in own professional growth activities.
8. Plans and implements the end of year Field Day event.
9. Oversees State Fifth Grade Physical Fitness Testing, including preparing students and reporting of results. 10. Articulates the program to parents, Board of Trustees, and interested community members. 11. Assists in other school programs as assigned. SUPERVISION Under the immediate direction of the Principal or Principal's designee.

Letter of Intent Current Resume Valid California Single Subject Physical Education Credential preferred. Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential will also be considered EL Authorization (or CLAD certificate) to provide English Language Development instruction Copy of Transcripts showing BA degree (and above if applicable) 3 Current Letters of Recommendation.
