Minimum Qualifications- Master's degree in agriculture, agricultural science, education with specialization in agriculture or related agricultural area (e.g., agricultural business, engineering, mechanics, agronomy, animal science, enology, horticulture, equine science, forestry, natural resources, plant science, pomology, soil science, viticulture, or other agriculture science). Equivalent education, experience, and accomplishments may be deemed equal.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Degrees and credits from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Foreign degrees must be evaluated by a professional association member of NACES or ACEI.
- Screening by a committee; interview not guaranteed.
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in an environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning, and service to a diverse student population.
- Ability to work with students possessing a wide range of skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals.
- Ability to develop curriculum, including delivery via different modalities.
- Ability to participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain subject‑matter currency.
- Ability to assess student learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies that would benefit the program.
- Commitment to the California community college mission.
