This position is for a Summer Counselor in one of our Chadwick Summer Programs.

Arts Unlimited (Performing/Visual Arts; Grades 4-8), Dolphin Camp (Enrichment; Grades 1-4), Hilltop Sports (Grades 1-8), Minis (Ages 4 and
5), Prep (Academics; Grades 1-4), Prep+ (Academics: Grades 5-12), Pool (certified Lifeguards).


In addition, we are seeking a small number of counselors able to assist during Passport Week (June 15-19) and Encore Week (July 27-31).

Details of each program are available on the Chadwick Summer Programs Website. Please indicate on your application or cover letter the program you would prefer to work in as a counselor.

Position summary

Responsible for instructing and interacting with students participating in the Chadwick Summer Program, ensuring that environment is safe and secure.

Major responsibilities

Applicants should be able to:

Work Saturday,
June 20, 2026, through Friday,
July 24, 2026 - Program not in session Friday, July 3, 2026 (Independence Day Holiday).

Attend a staff "onboarding" session and CPR Certification (if necessary) the week beginning Monday, June 15th (on-boarding sessions are 2 hours in length, CPR training is also 2 hours in length, and both are paid)

Attend a mandatory staff training day on Saturday, June 20th from 9:00am - 3:00pm.
  • Supervise campers during all camp activities
  • Instruct and interact with campers during all activities
  • Escort campers to classes, lunch, recreation, drop-off and pick-up activities, and participate in supervision of campers safety and well-being.
  • Monitor and ensure appropriate student behavior and adherence to Chadwick core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, fairness and compassion.
  • Work cooperatively and amicably with all staff members
  • Promote a fun and relaxing environment by expressing a fun and upbeat attitude.
  • Report all accidents or injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager / supervisor
  • Follow all safety and security policies and procedures to promote a clean and safe environment
  • Be professional in manner at all times, towards students, staff, parents and visitors.
  • Be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull or place objects weighing up to 25 lbs. without assistance
  • Be able to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time, or for the duration of the shift.
  • Complete all appropriate staff training.
  • Follow all Chadwick School policies as outlined.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, experience and skill requirements

Qualifications:

High school diploma or some college is preferred but not required.

Ability to work early morning or late afternoon a plus.

Individuals with previous applicable experience is preferred.

Computer proficiency required.

The ability to work with children is essential.

The ability to legally work in US is required.

Chadwick policy requires all employees to be 16 years of age before their hire date (Monday, June 16, 2025)

Compensation - $18.50

Screenings: TB assessment and Livescan Background check or work permit
