Position: On-Call Substitutes for Para Educator I (TK ONLY) and Para Ed II, SPED
Location: Saint Helena

Resume One letter of recommendation (must be dated and not older than 2 yrs.) CPR/AED Certificate First Aid Certificate

NOTE:

Hours:

On-call as needed and varies from 6 hrs. to 7 hrs. day; but could be 3, 4, or 5 hrs, but not less than
2). You will see the jobs come through an Automated Subbing System where you can easily pick up the job if you want it.

Qualifications:

Must have completed at least two years of study at institution of high education; OR obtained and Associates Degree (or higher); OR pass an academic assessment in reading, writing and mathematics. Must have basic knowledge of reading, writing and math skills. Requires the ability to assess situations, interpret student behavior and apply appropriate measures to enforce school regulations. Knowledge of developmental stages of young children preferred for Para Ed I and knowledge of behavioral practices and CPR/AED and First Aid certifications needed for the Para Ed II position.

Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.

Comments and Other Information

A pre-requisite for employment as Para Educator II, SPED or a Para Ed I is the proof of passing a Para Educator/Instructional Aide Proficiency Test that meets NCLB now ESSA requirements. EXCEPTIONS TO TAKING THIS TEST ARE:
Possession of a current California Teacher Credential, possession of an AA degree or higher, or at least 48 units, OR CBEST (California Basic Education Skills Test).
