General FunctionsSubstitute para educators work in Kindergarten–Grade 12 classrooms in a variety of settings, including Special Education, Lunchroom Supervisor, and Library Media Technician/In School Suspension, on an on‑call basis. Work is based on employee absenteeism and there are no guaranteed hours or benefits. The para educator tutors students, monitors and models behavior, and performs clerical duties such as typing and copying materials. Interviews are held on an ongoing basis throughout the school year.
