Substitute teacher applicants need to come to the Moline-Coal Valley Education Center, 1900 52nd Avenue, Moline to apply.

Applicants must bring the following items:

• An Illinois Educator License (You can apply for a Sub Teacher License on the Illinois State Board of Education website, ). It must be registered with Rock Island County.
• Copies of original college transcripts.
• A general physical not more than 90 days old.
• Fingerprint results completed within the last 90 days (completed at the Regional Office of Education).
• Required identification (e.g., driver's license and social security card, or a passport). Social security card needed for payroll file.

Hours:

Monday – Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.;
Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Summer hours or when students are not in session:
Monday – Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.;
Friday 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Fingerprints are completed at the Regional Office of Education, 3561 60th Street, Suite 310, Moline, IL 61265, (Please call before arriving). There is a fee: $64 cash or $67 by credit card (Visa or Master Card).

Once all paperwork is completed, the applicant's name is placed on the Board agenda for approval at the next Board of Education meeting.

There is a Mandated Training Session for all Substitute Teachers, to be completed at the District Office. It is an 8 hour course (you may complete it in one day or several days). Please contact Tonnie Brown at  or Sharon Cross  with any questions.

• Standard positions: $120 per day
• Premium positions (same classroom for 10 consecutive days): $140 per day
• Retired teachers (from any district with documentation): $150 per day
