The Assistant to the School Psychologist supports the delivery of special education and student services by assisting with assessment activities, data collection, compliance documentation, and coordination of Evaluation Team Report (ETR) processes. This position works collaboratively with school psychologists, intervention specialists, administrators, related service providers, and families to ensure timely and compliant evaluation procedures under IDEA and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree is required
- Valid Ohio Department of Education and Workforce license preferred (Intervention Specialist)
- Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checks
- Demonstrated knowledge of special education processes and IDEA regulations is preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with students, families, and staff
- Experience working in a school setting
- Knowledge of Evaluation Team Reports (ETRs), progress monitoring, and intervention systems
- Experience administering curriculum-based assessments and collecting student data
- Familiarity with iMTSS and tracking data with fidelity
- Member of the District's internal monitoring team (current or past)
- Highly knowledgeable and demonstrates special education compliance requirements
- Familiar with and utilizes the District's Special Education Policy and Procedure manual
- Assist school psychologists with the evaluation and reevaluation process for students ages preschool through grade 12.
- Administer academic assessments, curriculum-based measurements, and other evaluation tools as directed by the school psychologist.
- Conduct classroom observations and gather educational data to support evaluations.
- Compile, organize, and summarize information for Evaluation Team Reports (ETRs).
- Assist with scheduling evaluation meetings and coordinating communication with staff and families.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with IDEA and state requirements.
- Support Child Find activities and referral processes.
- Collaborate with intervention specialists, general education teachers, counselors, and administrators to collect relevant student information.
- Assist in monitoring timelines related to evaluations and reevaluations.
- Enter and maintain student data within district and state reporting systems.
- Participate in professional development related to special education assessment, compliance, and student services.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the School Psychologist or Director of Student Services.
- Ability to interpret and organize educational data.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills when interacting with students, families, staff, and community members.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of confidentiality requirements related to student records and special education services.
- Proficiency with educational technology and data management systems.
Works in standard office and school building environments.
