Job Summary

To perform highly skilled mechanical repair work on school buses, trucks, and other District vehicles; to perform or lead in servicing activities related to the maintenance of automotive equipment; to plan, assign, schedule and coordinate the work of the mechanics workload.

Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience:

    Five (5) years of verifiable experience as a mechanic, especially heavy duty mechanical work. Work experience in an educational setting preferred.
  • Education:

    College courses in Auto or Advance Transportation or UTI or any Trade School
  • Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and/or Testing:
    Valid CA Class B Commercial or Higher Passenger endorsement Air Brake Endorsement;
    Successfully Pass District Test; CNG Certified and ability to serve as CNG Fuel System Inspector; ASE Certified in 3 Areas.
  • Certificate Copy (ASE Certified in 3 Areas)
  • Certification (CNG Certified and ability to serve as CNG Fuel System Inspector)
  • Driver's License Copy (Valid California Driver License Class B or higher with Passenger and Air Brake Endorsement)
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two Letters of Recommendation dated and signed within the last twelve (12) months)
  • Proof of HS Graduation (High School/GED or higher)
