Basic Function
Kern Community College District is soliciting applications for part‑time, hourly adjunct instructors in the Business & Paralegal Studies department.
Salary: $67.00 per hour, may vary by assignment and LHE.
Location:
CC-ESCC, Bishop/Mammoth, CA.
- Provide instruction in a full range of Business courses including Intro to Business, Business Law, Principles of Management and Organization, Business Communication, Introduction to Marketing, Human Resource Management, Principles of Project Management, Introduction to Personal Finance, Managing Diversity in the Workplace, Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting.
- Teach at multiple campus sites, offering day, evening, weekend, large, and distance‑learning classes using various teaching methodologies.
- Participate in student recruitment and articulation activities.
- Maintain subject‑matter currency; develop and revise curriculum; use computer and multimedia technology.
- Engage collegially in departmental, college, and discipline‑specific professional activities.
- Master’s degree in business, business management, business administration, accounting, finance, marketing, or business education; or
- Bachelor’s degree in any of those fields plus a Master’s in economics, personnel management, public administration, or JD/LL.B.; or
- Bachelor’s in economics with a business emphasis plus a Master’s in personnel management, public administration, or JD/LL.B.; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and accomplishments (submit Application for Equivalence).
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
- Degrees obtained from accredited U.S. institutions or evaluated via NACES or ACEI for foreign degrees.
- Effective collaboration with colleagues in an innovative, student‑centered environment.
- Ability to work with students across a wide range of skill levels and goals.
- Curriculum development for multiple modalities.
- Recruitment and articulation activity participation.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Subject‑matter currency maintenance.
- Assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Computer and technology literacy; willingness to explore new technologies.
- Commitment to the California community college mission.
