The Roaring Fork School District is accepting applications for licensed substitute teachers (called Guest Teachers). We accept positions for those who are already licensed (e.g., retired teachers) AND those who do not currently hold a license but who hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
In the absence of the classroom teacher the guest teacher is responsible for providing instruction and managing the learning environment. Guest teaching is an opportunity to teach on your own schedule, work with kids, and make a lasting contribution. Guest teachers are eligible for miscellaneous sick time accrual, bonuses, and retirement benefits (through PERA).
The Roaring Fork Schools offers daily pay up to $167.88 for a full day or $83.94 for a half day.
Plus the opportunity to obtain the following bonuses: 25 assignments = $250 bonus, 50 assignments = $500 bonus, 100 assignments = $750 bonus, and 150 assignments =$1,000 bonus.
- Must pass a fingerprint-based background check.
- Must have or be eligible to receive substitute authorization or professional licensure from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE).
- Must have the ability to comply with written and oral instruction.
- Student and classroom management skills.
- Willingness to stand or sit or extensive periods of time.
- Flexibility and adaptability with different job duties and assignments, sometimes with short notice.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
