The Principal serves as the chief architect of the school's instructional program, culture, operational systems, and community relationships. The Principal plays a critical role in establishing the long-term success and sustainability of the school.

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Regional Director, the Elementary School Principal provides strategic, instructional, and operational leadership to ensure academic excellence and organizational effectiveness. The Principal is responsible for building high-performing teams, establishing effective school systems, supporting student achievement, and fostering strong family and community partnerships.

This role requires entrepreneurial leadership, adaptability, innovation, resilience, and a strong commitment to student success.

Essential Responsibilities

I. School Leadership & Startup Operations

  • Lead the planning and successful launch of the school's academic and operational systems.
  • Collaborate with Concept Schools Operations and Facilities teams to ensure campus readiness and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain systems, structures, and procedures aligned with organizational expectations.
  • Oversee daily school operations, safety procedures, crisis response protocols, and student support services.
  • Manage school budgets and financial resources in partnership with the Regional Director and Treasurer.
  • Coordinate grants, purchasing, reporting, and fiscal accountability processes.
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, federal, and CMO policies and procedures.

II. Instructional Leadership

  • Establish and communicate a clear instructional vision focused on student achievement and character development.
  • Promote high expectations for academic performance, behavior, and school culture.
  • Use instructional best practices and student achievement data to drive continuous school improvement and monitor progress toward SIP goals.
  • Conduct classroom observations, coaching cycles, and performance feedback for instructional staff.
  • Coordinate curriculum implementation and instructional alignment across grade levels.
  • Support differentiated instruction and ensure the needs of diverse learners, including students with special needs, are effectively addressed.
  • Build teacher leadership capacity and encourage innovation in instructional practices.

III. Staff Supervision & Professional Development

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, supervise, and evaluate certified and non-certified staff.
  • Foster a collaborative professional culture focused on continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Organize professional development, PLCs, coaching structures, and instructional support systems.
  • Ensure compliance with staff evaluation frameworks and personnel procedures.

IV. Student, Family & Community Engagement

  • Build a positive, inclusive, and student-centered school culture rooted in respect and accountability.
  • Establish systems, routines, and social-emotional learning supports that promote student success.
  • Lead student recruitment and enrollment initiatives to meet school targets.
  • Serve as the primary ambassador for the school within the community.
  • Develop strong partnerships with families, community organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ensure student conduct aligns with school expectations and district policies.

V. Organizational Management & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate student, personnel, attendance, and operational records as required by law.
  • Coordinate with district leadership and CMO departments regarding compliance, reporting, and organizational initiatives.
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities and ongoing leadership development.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Regional Director or designee.
Qualifications

Education

  • Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, School Administration, or a related field required.
  • Advanced graduate study, doctorate, or sixth-year degree preferred.

Certification/Licensure

  • Valid State Principal or Administrative Certification required.
  • Valid driver's license or ability to provide reliable transportation.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful elementary teaching experience required.
  • Previous elementary school leadership experience required;
