Special Education Assistant Bus Rider Substitutes - Hutchinson, MN

Job Summary

Hutchinson Public Schools is seeking Special Education Assistant Bus Rider Substitutes to join our team for the  school year and beyond.

Special Education Assistant Bus Riders will provide assistance and monitor individual students who are on an Individual Education Plan (IEP) while they are on the school bus, making sure school rules are followed to ensure student safety. The salary range for this position is $19.59 per hour – $22.09 per hour. Salary is dependent upon education and experience.

• Observe students, checking for appropriate and safe behaviors.
• Assist in conflict resolution as well as other needs including: tying shoes, zipping coats, etc.
• Assist the teacher with crisis problems and behavior management. Observe, record, and chart behaviors.
• Work with other staff and students to create a positive, efficient and safe school environment.
• Maintain confidentiality standards by adhering to the district's data privacy policy.

Required Qualifications (one of the following):

• Associate's Degree
• 60 semester college credits
• Passing score on one of the state-approved tests (Para Educator or Para Pro)
