MCUSD is actively seeking substitute applicants! Are you a retired teacher who would like to serve students once in a while in the classroom? Or are you an individual with a bachelors degree who might want to try out teaching? Are you an aspiring teacher? You do not have to be fully credentialed to be employed as a substitute teacher. Emergency substitute teaching permits can authorize a substitute to serve in day-to-day substitute settings in any classroom for a specific number of days.

Education Work Experience (last 3 years) Cover Letter Resume One of the following documents: a) A current, valid CA teaching credential (any subject); b) A current, valid CA Emergency Substitute Teaching Permit; or c) Be prepared to provide sealed, official transcripts demonstrating a bachelor's degree and CBEST results (if applicable) to apply for a CA Emergency Substitute Teaching Permit Unofficial Transcripts

Our Credential Specialist is willing to assist you in renewing your current credential or in applying for a new credential. This process can be done by appointment. Please contact our office to set up an appointment with JoEllen Jacobs, Human Resources Coordinator, or schedule your appointment online at The Mariposa County Office of Education can now assist our substitutes in applying for a new emergency substitute credential as a part of your substitute employee intake.
