Position: District Vice Principal - Inclusion (Vernon)
Location: Vernon

Job Summary

Provide strategic leadership to the Inclusive Education department across all 19 schools in District No. 22. The position reports to the Director of Instruction (Inclusive Education) and includes oversight of strategic planning, compliance, audits, school support, mentorship, crisis response, intervention oversight, and stakeholder liaison.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to the Inclusive Education department and support 19 schools across the district.
  • Ensure implementation of actions within the Strategic Plan aimed at equitable access and achievement for students with disabilities and diverse needs.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and represent the district on committees related to special services.
  • Oversee compliance with Ministry of Education and Child Care Inclusion policies, including the Inclusive Education Manual of Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
  • Lead strategic initiatives, audits, crisis response, and intervention oversight.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of exemplary teaching experience and exemplary experience as a Principal or Vice‑Principal.
  • Extensive knowledge of Inclusion policies, procedures and practices.
  • Experience with behavior interventions, individualized education planning, and student advocacy.
  • Valid BC Driver’s Licence.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Annual salary ranging from $133,804 to $148,951.
