Contract Period: 185 working days

Salary Range $56,809 - $87,909 (Based on education and years of relevant teaching experience). The annual salary listed above is based on a full-time, 8-hour workday (FTE
1) and a full working calendar. For positions with less than a full FTE or reduced hours, such as part-time or late-start positions, the salary will be prorated accordingly. Certified Salary Schedule. Credentialed teaching experience outside the District or U.S. may be considered in salary placement. Possibility to obtain a valid Colorado Driver's License.

Position Overview
  • The Child Find Coordinator identifies, locates, and evaluates children ages 3–5 with potential developmental delays or disabilities across the 5 Roaring Fork Schools early childhood programs. Operating under state and federal regulations (CDE, Part B/C), this role manages the entire referral, screening, evaluation, and IEP process. Serving as the primary liaison between families, providers, and community partners, the Coordinator tracks compliance data and ensures seamless, equitable transitions into early intervention and special education services.

    The position is based at the RFSD District Office in Carbondale but will spend the majority of time in schools, meeting with families, and in the community.
  • Receives direct supervision from the Special Education Director/Coordinator.
  • This is a .75 FTE, position, contract that follows the Certified Salary Schedule of 185 days. Candidates should expect to work an additional 100 hours throughout the summer; these hours will be paid on a per diem basis.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Early Childhood Education staff, School and District l to implement early childhood High Quality Inclusion Framework across all centers.
  • Support ECE teachers, center directors, and special educators to implement framework through coaching, professional development, and consultation.
  • Support K-2 Elementary principals and special educators to implement IEP compliant and quality IEPs and ensure that every student develops enduring knowledge, skills, and character.
  • Assist with staffing and resource allocation to ensure fiscal efficiency across school programs.
Compliance, Data & Accountability
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal special education statutes (including IDEA and CDE regulations) in alignment with general education practices.
  • Manage data collection and reporting for local, state, and federal agencies, including the IDEA Federal narrative, budget, and Results Driven Accountability (RDA) process.
  • Facilitate critical meetings
    , including manifestation determinations, expulsion hearings, and parent/district consultations.
Staff Training & Development
  • Support and coach ECSE and K-2 SPED teachers and support personnel on IEP requirements, transitions, and best practices.
  • Assist with personnel management
    , including recruitment, hiring, supervision, and evaluation of special education staff.
  • Train and certify District staff in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) techniques.
Communication & Community Engagement
  • Support the SPED Director in maintaining regular communication with staff regarding compliance, program implementation, and student outcomes.
