RISE Teacher
Possess valid multiple subjects teaching credential - demonstrate knowledge of core curriculum areas – create & implement behavior intervention plans - teach social-emotional skills – use de-escalation techniques – facilitate a school-wide framework for academic & behavioral support – assist in collecting, analyzing, & reporting data - demonstrate rapport and ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents and staff.
Under the direction of the Site Principal & Director of Student Support Services, the RISE Teacher will plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Description of duties and responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and the Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) System of the school.
- Provide appropriate feedback on work.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
- Prepare required reports on students and activities.
Requirements /
Qualifications:
Possess a multiple subject credential or meet the qualifications for a multiple subject permit, as well as an EL authorization. Possess the ability to work positively and effectively with students, families, school personnel, and other community agencies.
