Para Support Specialist-District Wide

Para educator Support Specialists provide specialized assistance and resources for special education students across the District. They provide training and support for district para educators, special education instructors, and other school teams. Para educator Support Specialists may also provide direct support to students using positive behavioral interventions and strategies. They report to Special Services Directors.

• Associate's degree (AA) or higher, or two (2) years of college coursework equivalent to 72 quarter credits, or a passing score (461 or higher) on the Educational Testing Service Para Pro Assessment. Official documentation will be required upon hire.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must complete de‑escalation training upon hire.

• Must possess a valid Washington State driver's license.
• CPR and first aid certification preferred.
