Salary/Hourly RateBS 0 years experience=$53,000, MS 0 years experience=$54,000 with additional compensation for years of experience.
The Educational Diagnostician works under the direction of the school psychologist to support data-driven decision-making to promote equitable access to educational opportunities for all students. This role involves administering academic assessments, completing classroom systematic observations, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct multi-disciplinary evaluations for students suspected of having disabilities in accordance with IDEA and state regulations.
- Upon request for an evaluation, conduct a student school record review (i.e., grades, attendance, discipline, enrollment history, standardized test scores, medical information, previous evaluations, and MTSS/RTI) and compile all relevant information to share with the school psychologist.
- Under the direction of the school psychologist, administer and score standardized academic assessments and curriculum-based measures; write comprehensive results of academic achievement tests administered.
- Coordinate, schedule, and conduct student observations and record observational data.
- Distribute rating scales and interview forms to required stakeholders as a part of the multidisciplinary evaluation.
- Facilitate parent intake meetings for students to obtain consent for evaluation (i.e., social/developmental history, explain parent rights, and discuss timelines for evaluation completion).
- Contribute to clear, accurate, and legally compliant evaluation reports that summarize academic findings and systematic observations.
- Per the direction of the school psychologist, participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including eligibility conferences, IEP meetings, and reevaluation reviews.
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to provide suggestions and instructional planning based on the results of the evaluation data; provide consultation to school staff regarding assessment data, student progress, and appropriate interventions.
- Ensure timelines, procedural safeguards, and documentation requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with FERPA and district policies.
- Assist with progress monitoring and data analysis to support instructional and intervention decisions.
- Stay current with best practices, assessment tools, and changes in special education law and guidance.
- PAR case conferences as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
