Salary: $48 per hour, one day per week (6.5 hours per day).
Reports to:
Director of Special Education, Montville Public Schools.
St. Bernard School, a faith-based parochial school serving students in grades 6-12, is seeking a qualified School Psychologist to provide services one day per week during the school year. This grant-funded position focuses on supporting students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral well-being within a collaborative and student-centered environment.
The school psychologist works closely with leadership, teachers, families, and outside service providers to identify student needs, support interventions, and promote positive student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct psycho educational/academic evaluations and assist with interpretation of assessment data as appropriate.
- Provide consultation to teachers and staff regarding learning, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns.
- Support the development and monitoring of student intervention plans.
- Collaborate with parents/guardians regarding student needs and recommendations.
- Participate in student support team meetings as needed.
- Assist school staff in implementing evidence-based strategies to support student success.
- Help connect families with outside resources when appropriate.
- Support students with transition, vocation, and employment exploration and activities.
- Master’s or Specialist degree in School Psychology (or related field).
- Current state certification or eligibility for certification as a School Psychologist.
- Experience working with school-aged children.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a faith-based educational environment.
- Experience in private or parochial school settings.
- One day per week during the academic year (schedule flexible based on school needs).
