Bilingual Instructional Assistant
The job of the Bilingual Instructional Assistant was established for the purpose of providing support to English learners so that they may access the instructional program within assigned classroom with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision and instruction of English learners in the classroom; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior during non-classroom time; providing information to appropriate school personnel;
assisting students in completing classroom assignments and computer applications. This job posting will remain active through the indicated Final date to receive applications. / Qualifications
Must be bilingual.
Paraprofessionals whose duties include instructional support must have:
High school diploma or the equivalent, and (a) Two years of college (48 units), OR (b)
A.
A. degree (or higher), OR (c) Pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction. If you need to take the local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction, you may contact Human Resources to set up an appointment to take the exam.
