Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000 annually

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), this position is responsible for collaborating with administrators, teachers, and school personnel to address student behavior by working toward the following model:

  • Supervision will be provided by the Assistant Director of Behavioral Services/BCBA in the School District
  • Work with students directly providing behavioral support under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Behavioral Services
  • Push into and support students in the classroom environment
  • Support school teams to collect and analyze behavioral data to effectively make decisions regarding the implementation of evidence-based behavioral interventions, principles, techniques, and strategies
  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments and design skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs
  • Conduct skills assessments under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Behavioral Services (e.g., ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP, etc.)
  • Communicate with teams through consistent data collection and daily notes
Essential Functions:
  • Work under the supervision of the district's Assistant Director of Behavioral Services/BCBA while providing direct support to students while implementing interventions as outlined in student IEPs, 504s, and Behavior Plans
  • Work collaboratively with teachers on classroom management strategies, classroom design/set-up, and classroom practices
  • Work collaboratively with team members to promote safe and socially acceptable behaviors with identified students with a focus on teaching students skills which may include appropriate social interaction, safety skills, coping skills, etc.
  • Support students in the implementation of the IEP, 504 plan, and Behavior Plan
  • Support teachers and school teams with assessing, developing, monitoring, and adjusting effective behavior intervention plans.
  • Help school teams collect and use behavioral data (ABC, count, frequency, duration, response time, etc.), on a school, classroom, and student level to develop tiered systems of support
  • Serve on school-wide committees and task forces as appropriate
  • Engage in professional growth activities and integrate these activities into practice
  • Maintain credentialing per state and national certification
  • Maintain accurate, complete records as required by division-level practices, state and federal regulations, district policy, and administrative regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Behavioral Services, Director, and Assistant Director of Special Education
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Licensed behavior specialist, Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCABA), Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), or working towards BCBA
  • Experience working with PK-12 students
  • Extensive knowledge and skills related to the concepts, principles, and methodologies of effective instruction and positive behavioral interventions, supports, and strategies to address behavior
  • Ability to take feedback and apply it to practice
  • Firm understanding of the social, emotional, and behavioral development of school-age children and youth
  • Effectively communicate both in writing and verbally with students, parents, school personnel, and agency support staff
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technology
  • Demonstrate strong organization and management skills
  • Ability to work independently and travel to more than one work location in the course of the day
  • Possesses sufficient strength, agility, dexterity, and mobility to carry out all performance requirements
