Teacher Induction Mentors
The District is recruiting qualified and credentialed Teacher Induction Mentors (formally known as BTSA Support Providers). We need for Mentors to support our new teachers with multiple-subject, single-subject, and special education credentials at all of our school sites. Please submit a short online application if you are interested in being a Teacher Mentor beginning in the school year.
The San Diego County Office of Education Teacher Induction Program is a two-year induction program for teachers new to the profession or new to California. Teachers eligible for the Induction Program are assigned to experienced teachers (a "Mentor") who guide the new teacher through an individualized induction plan that supports the professional development of the new teachers.

- Final date to receive applications: August 19 - 3:00 p.m.
- Length of Work Year: August 2026 - May 2027
- Mentor Compensation: Mentors assigned to provide support to one or more teachers shall receive an annual stipend of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for each assigned teacher.
- Mentor Qualifications: Mentors must be contracted FUESD teachers with a Professional Clear (or equivalent) certification and have at least 3 years of classroom instruction experience. Applicants who have demonstrated exemplary teaching ability, as indicated by (1) effective communication skills, (2) subject matter knowledge, and (3) a mastery of a range of teaching strategies necessary to meet the needs of pupils in different contexts.
- Requirements for Applying: Submit a short online application that includes a short summary outlining qualifications and experience. Additionally, two references from any of the three individuals are required:
Principal or Supervisor, a Classroom Teacher, or an Association Representative with specific knowledge of the applicant's expertise. Letters of recommendation are NOT required; however, names, titles and contact information of two references must be provided in your online application. This position is open to all qualified current employed certificated teachers. A completed online application is required to be considered. Emailed, faxed, or mailed materials will not be accepted.
All information must be provided in your online application. - Mentor Training: Teachers selected as Mentors shall be provided professional development that includes the development of knowledge and skills needed to identify and respond to teacher needs and the development of a collegial community that engages program participants. Selected Mentors will be required to attend an online training in September.
