Location: Westlake Village
Elementary Bible Specialist (TK-Grade
3)
Oaks Christian School – Part‑time, 10‑month, Exempt, Category 6 – Westlake Village.
Salary Range: $60,000–$90,000 (prorated based on number of classes assigned).
GeneralThe purpose of the Elementary Bible Specialist is to work closely with the Elementary School Principal, Elementary Director, Head of Bible, Discipleship, and Spiritual Life, and grade‑level teachers to determine the most effective way to teach the Bible in each classroom. The TK‑3 Bible Specialist reports directly to the Head of Bible Discipleship and serves in the teaching faculty of the TK‑3 campus, working closely with the TK‑3 Director and Principal.
Qualifications- Devoted Disciple – committed to Jesus Christ, with a track record of service, church involvement, and a strong desire to teach elementary‑age children.
- Missional Calling – committed to the school’s statement of faith.
- Gifted Teacher – effective and creative communicator of Scriptures and the gospel to elementary‑age children.
- Elementary School Experience – 3 to 5 years working with TK‑3rd‑grade children.
- Administration – strong organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Training – B.A. degree in Biblical Studies or Christian Ministries (M.S. in Biblical Studies preferred).
- Professional Growth – commit to expertise and growth, maintain professional reading, and pursue spiritual and relational maturity.
- Professional Responsibilities – teach one TK‑3 Bible lesson per week to each class and plan Bible lessons for TK‑3 grade students.
- Coordinate weekly chapel logistics and communication with the Head of Bible, Discipleship, and Spiritual Life.
- Abide by the spirit and policies in the OCS Faculty Handbook.
- Teaching the provided curriculum.
- Songs.
- Memory work.
- Related activities.
- Grades and report cards.
- Attend faculty meetings, in‑service days, department meetings, and summer professional development.
- All other duties as assigned.
