Children's Center Teacher

Job Description

Teachers are responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising educational programs for a group of children.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Arrange and decorate classroom and maintain a comfortable environment
• Determine cognitive, social, and physical needs of children
• Develop a curriculum plan and carry out all indoor and outdoor activities
• Organize and assemble materials for a variety of learning experiences
• Create periodic progress reports regarding development of individual children
• Assist children with self-help skills
• Supervise snack and meal times
• Set-up classroom naptime
• Direct and supervise Teacher’s Aide
• Enforce standards of behavior with approved discipline techniques
• Monitor children’s interaction and help solve conflicts

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must have minimum of twelve units of Child development or Early Child Development Education
• Toddle teacher must include three units in Infant-Toddler Development
